Below is a letter from a Real SteadyMD Patient. Read Jay’s SteadyMD story:
SteadyMD,
Where do I start by telling you how valuable this is to me. I will preface this with a disclaimer and say that Spencer (my doctor) is a personal friend. That friendship also doesn’t come with a promise of professional results.
A couple of years ago, I didn’t care about health insurance, doctor visits, or being proactive with anything health related. I considered myself invincible. I was lifting heavy, several years removed from a rugby career, and I always thought, “it won’t happen to me.”
Until it did.
An episode of Atrial Fibrillation turned into Congestive Heart Failure which turned into 6 days in ICU and 60 pounds of water ripped from my body with a heavy dose of diuretic. After that life threatening debacle, I was on seven different medications and it took an ablation to fix my A-Fib.
I was referred by a cardiologist to a PCP, and it took over 1 month to get into the office to see her. The visit was 10 minutes while the waiting room visit was 45 minutes.
This is the norm and it is just another day in the life of medical care in America, until I discovered SteadyMD. I saw Spencer discuss it, I signed up for the initial blast, and I have been with him ever since.
The obvious is obvious in that you don’t need to drive to a waiting room, take time off from work, blah blah blah… but if you are like me, hell even if you aren’t like me, I have a gym to run (owner of Kansas City Barbell – shameless self promotion heyyy) and just don’t have the desire to take time out of the #hustlegrindalldaywhatever life to go see a doctor. Plus I also have a pressing desire to never make the same mistake I made for so many years in not being proactive about my health.
So this service seals the deal for me.
Here is the trick, you actually have to use it. You can’t be that person to not let your doctor know about stuff. If you are sick, text him. If you feel like you need to see a doctor, text him. Your doctor can refer you to specialists, prescribe medication, order bloodwork, and the response time is quick. You don’t need to call your doctor’s receptionist, make an appointment, miss work, drive to the office, wait in the waiting room, read horrible magazines, see your doctor for a few minutes, and drive home.
This is quick, easy, effective, and it comes with the caveat that you have to take a proactive approach to your health and NOT reactive.
If you just go to the doctor when you are sick, you are missing out on what the value of SteadyMD truly is.
You pay of pocket for this service but you use your insurance for specialists, medication, bloodwork, and tests ordered.
Fast forward to today…
I am 40 pounds lighter, I am only on two medications, my doctor helps me manage my blood pressure and vitals remotely, when I need a refill it is taken care of quickly, and my cardiologist gave me the amazing, “I think you and your doctor have it from here”, about 5 months ago.
So yea, I trust SteadyMD, and Spencer is more than just a friend, he is invaluable.”
